1. Before you start
You need two things: the Muse app on your phone and an invite code. That is the whole list. An invite code is a short string of letters and numbers that unlocks your account. When you redeem it, you receive 1 billion Muse tokens, and the person who shared it with you receives 1 billion too, according to Muse's current invite copy. No code yet? Grab one free from the community pool first, then come back here.
The whole thing takes a few minutes when you have both ready. Before you begin, know where your code came from. A code from a friend and a code from the community pool work exactly the same way. The app does not care who sent it. What matters is that the code is fresh and that you redeem it within 48 hours of joining. Most failed redemptions come down to three causes: typos, old codes, and missed windows. This guide helps you dodge all three.
One more thing to settle before you start: decide which account you will use. The code attaches to the account you are signed in with when you redeem it. If you sign in with one account, redeem, and later switch to another, the bonus stays with the first account. Pick the account you plan to keep and stick with it through the whole process.

2. Install and open the app
Install Muse from your phone's official app store and open it. Use the official listing only, published by Meta. Random download links passed around on social media are a classic scam setup, and the real app costs nothing to install. If a link asks you to pay for the app itself, close it. That is not the real thing.
Once installed, open the app and let it fully load before you do anything else. If the app prompts you to update, do the update first. App menus move around between releases, and the redeem option you need may only appear in the current version. Redeeming on an old build is one of the quiet reasons people cannot find the option at all.
If the app is not listed in your country's store yet, the rollout has not reached you. Meta has not published a full list of launch countries or dates, so there is no official page to check. Join the waitlist instead of hunting for sketchy downloads, and do not trust third party app files that claim to unlock it early.
3. Sign in to your account
Sign in before you go looking for the redeem option. The invite attaches to your account, so this step has to come first. If you are new, create the account the app asks for, finish the sign up completely, and then move on. A half finished sign up can leave you in a strange state where Settings does not show everything it should.
Use the sign in method you want to keep long term. This is the account that will hold your 1 billion token bonus, and tokens never expire, so this choice sticks around. If you have more than one email or phone number, pause for ten seconds and pick deliberately. Fixing it later means contacting support, and that is a slow road for something you can get right now.
4. Open Settings and find the redeem option
Open Settings and look for the invite or redeem area. App menus move around between updates, so do not memorize a path from a screenshot you saw online. Look for the words invite, redeem, or referral, and tap the one you find. The wording may differ slightly from what guides show, but those three words are what the option is built around.
It lives inside Settings, not on the home screen. People often scan the main screens, fail to find it, and assume something is broken. It is not on the main screens. Go into Settings and scroll. If you cannot find it, update the app first. An old version can hide new menu items, and this is the most common fix when the option seems to be missing.
What to do if the redeem option is missing
First, confirm you are signed in. The invite area only shows for signed in accounts. Second, update the app to the latest version and reopen it. Third, check whether you already redeemed a code on this account. The invite flow is built around a single redeem, so once it is done, the option may simply disappear. If none of that explains it, the app may have moved the option in a recent update. Look again for the words invite, redeem, or referral before concluding it is gone.
5. Enter the code and confirm
Enter the code exactly as shown. Codes are easy to mistype, so paste it if you can instead of typing it by hand. Copy the code from the message where you received it, then paste it directly into the field. Typing by hand introduces errors that pasting avoids completely. If you must type it, go slowly and read each character back before you confirm.
Watch for two quiet problems. The first is extra spaces. When you copy a code from a chat message, you can accidentally grab a space at the start or the end, and that stray space can make a good code fail. Paste it, then check both ends of the field. The second is lookalike characters. Letters and numbers that look similar cause the bulk of manual entry mistakes. If a character is unclear in the message you received, ask the sender to resend it plainly rather than guessing.
Make sure the redemption goes through before you close the app. Tap confirm, then wait for the app to show you that it worked. Do not assume it worked. Do not close the app while it is still thinking. Give it a stable connection and a few seconds, then confirm the success state on screen before you move on.
How to tell it actually worked
The app should confirm the redemption on screen. Do not navigate away until you see that confirmation. Once you see it, the bonus is attached to your account: 1 billion Muse tokens for you and 1 billion for the person who shared the code, according to Muse's current invite copy. If you close the app the moment you tap confirm and never see a result, reopen it and check whether the redeem option is still there. If the option is gone, the redeem almost certainly went through.
A small tip for the careful: redeem over a stable connection and give the app a moment to confirm. Closing the app mid redeem is the easiest way to turn a success into a mystery.
6. If the code is not accepted
Work through these in order. Most failures are fixed by the second one.
Check the code itself
One wrong character is the most common cause of a failed redeem. Paste the code again carefully, check for stray spaces at either end, and make sure you copied the full string. If the code arrived as a screenshot, ask the sender for the code as text. Screenshots get cropped, compressed, and misread, and text avoids all of that.
Check the 48 hour window
Codes must be redeemed within 48 hours of joining, according to Muse's current invite copy. If you received the code days ago and only just got around to it, the window is the likely culprit. This is also why you should never save a code for later. The moment you have a code and the app installed, redeem it. More on the expiry rules.
Check the app and the connection
Update the app to the latest version, reopen it, and try again on a stable connection. A failed attempt on a shaky connection can leave you unsure whether the code went through. Reopen the app and look: if the redeem option is gone, your earlier attempt probably succeeded.
The code itself may be spent
If everything above looks fine, the code may already be used. Grab a fresh one from the community pool and try again. And never pay anyone for a replacement code. Replacements are free, and anyone charging for one is running a scam.
7. What happens right after you redeem
Two things happen when a redeem goes through. First, your account is unlocked. Second, the token bonus lands: 1 billion Muse tokens for you and 1 billion for the person whose code you used, according to Muse's current invite copy. Both sides get the bonus from a single redeem. Nobody has to do anything extra to trigger it.
Tokens are what Muse runs on, and the full breakdown lives in Muse tokens explained. The short version that matters here: tokens never expire. There is no countdown pressuring you to spend the bonus quickly. Take your time, learn the app, and use them when you have something worth doing.
Right after redeeming, take thirty seconds to confirm your account details are the ones you want to keep. Check the email or phone number on the account and make sure it is yours and current. This is also the moment to find your own referral code inside the app. You now have one to share, and every person who redeems it earns the same bonus for both of you. The walkthrough in how to find and share your Muse referral code shows where it lives.
8. Mistakes that waste the 48 hour window
The 48 hour window is the single biggest reason people lose their bonus. Here are the patterns that burn it.
Exploring first, redeeming later. New users often poke around the app for a few days and plan to redeem when they get serious. By then the window has closed. Redeem first, explore second. The bonus will still be there when you are ready to use it, because tokens never expire.
Redeeming on the wrong account. If you test the app with a throwaway sign in and redeem there, the bonus lives on the throwaway. Decide on your keeper account before you redeem, not after.
Waiting on a better code. Some people hold out for a code from a specific friend while a perfectly good code sits in their messages. Codes work the same no matter who sent them. Use the one you have.
Assuming it can wait until the weekend. Forty eight hours is two days, not a vague soon. If you got the code on a busy weekday, set a reminder for that evening. Future you will not remember.
9. After redeeming: three things worth doing first
You are in. The bonus is yours. Here is how to make the first hour count.
Learn what the tokens do. Read Muse tokens explained so you understand what you are holding. A billion sounds enormous, and it is, but knowing how tokens get spent keeps you from wasting them on throwaway experiments.
Find your own referral code. It is inside the app once you are signed in. Save it somewhere you can reach it, like your notes app, so you are ready when a friend asks how to get in.
Share it forward. Add your code to the community pool on this site's homepage so someone else can grab it, or send it directly to a friend. Every redeem pays the bonus to both sides again. The guide to gifting a code to a friend walks through doing it well.

Frequently asked questions
- Where do I enter a Muse invite code?
- In the app's Settings, in the invite or redeem area. Menus can move between updates, so look for those words.
- How long do I have to redeem?
- Within 48 hours of joining, according to Muse's current invite copy.
- The code was not accepted. What should I do?
- Check for typos, check the 48 hour window, then grab a fresh code from the community pool.
- Do I need an account before redeeming?
- Yes. Install the app, sign in, then redeem.
- Is redeeming free?
- Yes. Redeeming costs nothing. Never pay for a code.
- Can I redeem more than one code on the same account?
- The invite flow is built around a single redeem per account. Meta has not published what happens if you enter a second code, so treat your one redeem as the one that counts. If you have a spare code, pass it to a friend instead.
- I joined more than 48 hours ago. Is my code useless now?
- According to Muse's invite copy, the code must be redeemed within 48 hours of joining. Past that window, redeeming is not expected to work. Your account still works normally. You simply miss the token bonus.
- Does redeeming need a payment method or a card?
- No. Redeeming costs nothing and asks for no payment details. If any page asks for your card before giving you a code, leave. That is a scam.
- The redeem option is not in my Settings at all. What now?
- Confirm you are signed in, update the app to the latest version, and look again for the words invite, redeem, or referral. If you already redeemed once, the option may be gone because the job is done.
